Nature’s Village Resort Acquired Prestigious “Good Travel Seal” Certification for Sustainable Tourism Practices

Nature’s Village Resort, a premier eco-friendly resort in Talisay City, Negros Occidental is proud to announce that it was awarded the “Good Travel Seal – Gold” certification by Green Destinations. This recognition underscores the resort’s unwavering commitment to sustainable tourism practices and environmental stewardship.

Green Destinations, based in the Netherlands, is a global organization dedicated to promoting sustainability in tourism. With the assistance and guidance of Susan Santos de Cárdenas, President & CEO, Society for Sustainable Tourism Green Destinations, & Vice Chairman of the Asian Ecotourism Network, they support sustainable practices among businesses and communities worldwide. Additionally, Green Destinations provides extensive support through a program offering over 40 assessment and reporting tools, along with training courses, to help stakeholders enhance their sustainability efforts effectively.

Nature’s Village Resort (NVR) actively advocates sustainable tourism development in resort operations. NVR’s strongest gains have been the reduction of economic leakage by producing compost material through vermiculture, growing their own herbs and vegetables, their Eco-bricks program and limiting the use of single-use plastics. Reducing electricity bills by installing Solar Panels and consciously mitigating greenhouse gas emissions while saving thousands of liters of water every month are among their strong interventions. NVR also upcycles materials creating decorative fixtures and turning waste into art. NVR champions local communities by hiring and training Negrosanons, harnessing their skills, and celebrating their unique brand of Negrense hospitality.

The attainment of the “Good Travel Seal” certification further solidifies Nature’s Village Resort’s position as a leading advocate for sustainable tourism. Guests can continue to enjoy unparalleled hospitality experiences while contributing to the preservation of the environment and the well-being of local communities.
